I have installed RH9 on a Compaq Evo N800v with a Compaq Intel 802.11b
Multiport. I upgraded to kernel to 2.4.20-18.9 (via binary RPM) and have
installed linux-wlan-ng-0.2.1-pre10.

During start up the light on the multiport comes on, as in Windows.
However, when I do not appear to have an IP address (this netwprk uses
DHCP) and assigning an IP directly to wlan0 doesn't work either. Running
iwconfig results in the following errors

hfa384x_dorrid: ctlx failure=REQ_TIMEOUT <- this line repeats many times
Prism2sta_mlmerequest: Failed to read wlan0 statistics: error=-5

After these errors are displayed the stats for wlan0 do appear. I can
see that it has found my wireless AP.

I linux-wlan-ng was built againt kernel source for 2.4.20-18.9 that I
configed for Pentium 4 and 6x86, both to no avail. If anyone can point
me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Regards,
  Derek
