You know, it's funny you mentioned this, because I can see that with my 2.4.34 kernel machine, the firmware images do NOT get downloaded to RAM.
I tried the instructions in the FAQ (Basically drop the firmware into the src/prism2 directory and rebuild/reinstall the driver) but it did not seem to make a difference.
However, with the 2.6.19.2 kernel machine, they do indeed.
